Hatid-Tulong Initiative sends home 87 Mimaropa LSIs
QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- At least 44 Locally Stranded individuals have been brought back to Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon through Hatid-Tulong Intiative of the National Government in last two days.
An Inter-agency program coordinated by the Presidential Management Staff (PMS), Hatid Tulong Initiative aims to assist students, workers, OFWs and other kababayans caught up in the National Capital Region and nearby areas during the implementation of community quarantine to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Hatid-Tulong Initiative is supported also by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the regional line agencies in National Capital Region, Office of Civil Defense Mimaropa and the local governments of Mimaropa Region.
The 44 LSIs (13 for Marinduque, eight for Occidental Mindoro and another eight for Oriental Mindoro and 15 for Romblon) are part of the 87 LSIs bound for Mimaropa who have undergone and passed the rapid test during the Grand Send Off at the Quirino Grandstand area, Rizal Park, Manila last July 5.
The rapid tests are among the services provided at the One Stop Shop set up in Quirino Grandstand premises.
Those who tested negative were issued with authorities to travel and received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
As for the Palawan bound LSI (43), their vessel (M/V DA BFAR that left Manila on Monday morning) is expected to dock at the Puerto Princesa City Port.
Even though the LSIs were cleared to travel at the Grand Send Off in Manila, they were subjected to the health quarantine protocols of their receiving local governments. (LP/PIAMIMAROPA)
